Interest in painting this little cast iron Indian sent me on a search for other vintage artifacts to include in a still life. A decrepit Big Little Book was on my own bookshelf at home. It belonged to my Dad, and had a pie recipe written by my Grandmother on the back page. The marbles are ones I’ve collected for years; people know I like to paint them, and they are often gifted to me. The K on the block isn’t significant; it’s what I found at the local antiques co-op. Together, they make an intriguing little vignette.
