This painting was inspired by trompe l’oeil artists before me, especially Anthony Waichulis’ consistently captivating works.
It started as a still life with a simple theme: birds in flight. While painting, I realized I was altering my reference a little and contemplating a different narrative. One about freedom, balance, growth and possibility.

Framed in a black contemporary-style wood frame.

This painting is currently in an exhibit at the John Peto Museum in NJ, where it received the award for Conceptual Connections.
